Content Analysis and Semiotics

Once the researcher has interviewed and observed participants, s/he has to analyze all the data. The process of analysis involves reading through all the content several times, organizing the data, reading again, coding and finding relationships between the codes to finally provide an interpretation of participants’ sayings.

If this task is definitely an interpretive one, there are nevertheless some procedures to be respected. This course provides such procedures. It also introduces the attendants to the world of semiotics to better navigate among signs and codes.
